What is YouthCare?

According to Illinicare.com, YouthCare is a healthcare plan designed especially for children and youth under 21 years old in DCFS care AND youth under 21 years of age who have exited out of DCFS care. Youth are eligible to receive care until you are 26, regardless of income.

Through YouthCare, youth who are eligible will have the following medical expenses covered by their healthcare plan:

  • Physical Health

  • Behavioral Health

  • Dental Health

  • Vision

How do I know if I am eligible for youth care?

If you are currently in DCFS care, or you are under the age of 21 and have had your case closed with DCFS you are eligible. For more information, please read the YouthCare enrollment letters from DCFS that reflect your current status with DCFS below:
